DLKW Lowe hires two new creative directors in Lovisa Silburn and Amber Casey

Published by

It was announced yesterday that DLKW Lowe has hired Lovisa Silburn and Amber Casey to be the new creative directors of the agency. Silburn and Casey have worked together before at DDB, where they first met back in 2002 and became long-term friends, but this will be the first time they have worked as a team. Together they will be overseeing an eclectic range of the agency's clients, and will report to joint executive creative directors, Richard Denney and Dave Henderson. Henderson believes that the pair have “An incredible appetite for work, and infectious enthusiasm, and a proven ability to write the hits.” He speaks on behalf of his fellow ECD when he says that both he and Denney are “Very pleased” that they want to make DLKW Lowe their home.

Casey had a hand in the now infamous VW 'Bollocks' viral advert, which earned her Cannes Lions, British Arrows and Creative Circle Golds

Whilst she was at DDB, Casey was best known for creating the “Fashion Victims” campaign for Harvey Nichols, which earned her a D&AD Award, she also earned a D&AD Award for The Guardian. She also had a hand in the now infamous VW 'Bollocks' viral advert, which earned her Cannes Lions, British Arrows and Creative Circle Golds. As well DDB, Casey has also spent time over the past decade working at Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, where she worked on campaigns for such prestigious brands as the BBC, Land Rover, Oxfam and British Airways.

Silburn meanwhile has worked previously for Lowe, but has also worked at DDB London and Fallon Minneapolis. Like her new partner, she has won a D&AD Pencil for her work with Stella Artois, and for that same work she also walked away with a Cannes Lion. Silburn also produced the “Royal Wedding” online film for T-Mobile, which went on to become the most-watched ad on YouTube in the UK back in 2011, when the country was apoplectic with 'royal fever'.

The new appointments are effective immediately, and mark a strong coup for the agency, who lost three members back in January (Andy McAnaney, Christian Sewell and Jamie Craven) to Havas Worldwide London. The agency had a strong start to the year however, winning accounts with both Ofgem and the British Heart Foundations, and new creative talent in the form of James Millers and Andy Long from M&C Saatchi.
